Dvd Game Rental Video

Illegal pay for play in video games?
How come it says in the back of a DVD, or a game for a console "Unauthorized, copying reverse engineering, transmission, public performance, rental, pay for play, or circumvention is strictly prohibited" and yet it is offered at movie rental locations. I understand Copyright laws which states that once you buy the DVD ur actually purchasing the Copyrights which state that u can basically do whatever you want with the DVD, Within those limits. But doesn't it say rental? Is there a special edition made for rental? Or do they just ignore these guidelines? Just curious
They have special copies, and covering for rental stuff
Ok yea, but dont they sell them once everyone loses interest? Then that person has the right to rent it to whoever is willing to do so? I know this question is just stupid. but i wanna see how far they have to go just to be able to purchase a special "rental copy"
Video stores actually purchase the videos with a license that allows pay for play (or pay for watch, in the case of a DVD). That is a consumer warning.
I used to work in a video store (way back when there were still VHS tapes, lol) and they were paying around $150 PER TAPE to rent; that pays the studio for the license to rent them out. I imagine the cost has increased with DVDs and Blu-Rays and CD-type video games.
