Xbox 360 memory space?
I'm interested in getting the less expensive Xbox 360 Arcade this season. I'm wondering how much (game saves) I could put on the included 256 MB memory. I don't want to download any Tv shows, movie rentals, arcade games, demos etc. I do, however, want a few games. I'd like to get Perfect Dark Zero, Kameo, Viva Pinata, and Oblivion GotY (also Force Unleashed, UT 3, Unnamed Marvel Fighter, and Banjo-Kazooie 3 when they are released in the future). Since I really only want game save data and nothing to do with playing online through Live or using the Marketplace, will the 256 MB memory be enough to support all those games? Also, if anyone owns any of the games mentioned above, could you tell me how much space they take up? One more thing: how much space do dashboard themes and gamer pictures packs take up? Also, Kameo Co-op and Perfect Dark maps? Or do I need a harddrive for this stuff? Thanks.
The 256 MB will hold most of the game saves you would need for those games, no problem.
However, certain games, notably "Oblivion" play a lot worse without a hard drive, because it uses caching to help speed up transitions between areas and the huge open world.
Also, if you end up liking oblivion i cant imagine not wanting to get Shivering Isles, Knights of the Nine or the other expansion packs, which definitely wont fit on the memory card.
but basically you could just buy the arcade pack, use the mem card for the time being, then upgrade later, and for game saves you will be just fine
Perfect dark maps are a couple hundred MB's, so your out of luck there, im pretty sure Kameo co-op would be a tight fit if you had other things like gamer pictures. Themes are about 100kb and gamer pics 30-50kb depending on number of pics
