Where can I meet "nerdy" guys that are into video games and anime and philosophy?
I'm 20, don't go to college (yet) which makes me have a disadvantage because that's the easiest way to meet these types of people. I have a few ideas, Hastings (a bookstore/rental/entertainment place) and Starbucks, I've thought maybe they might go to these places for the wifi and they might be playing a game or something. Should I bring a book or Nintendo DS with me to attract people with similar interests? The only other place I can think of is the library. Either way, how would I be able to pick out these kinds of people in any of these settings, like hastings for example, would I just pretend to browse the games or books and strike up a conversation with someone that way? Please don't recommend things like conventions, I live in a (boring) ruralish town, and for now just want to scope out my area, not travel out of town.
and if you're wondering why I want to meet guys, it's because I get along better with them than girls.
You can meet that kind of people in GameStop or other gaming sites, like the arcade room...
