Video Game Review Jobs

How does a person get a job as a video game tester?
I love to play video games and feel I'm pretty good at reviewing them. It would be my dream job to play games as a tester and review them for development companies. I can't think of any college classes/degrees that could prepare you for a career like this. Does anyone know how a person gets a job like this?
Most game testing jobs are related to the QA industry or software testing industry.
You need very little experience to get an entry level job as a game tester. I would read up on some software testing methodologies to help you stand out of the applicants.
Most companies do not have a major in house testing section. If they do, it small but filled with QA or SDET (software developer engineer in test) engineers which have lots of experience. Many companies use a contracting company to handle much of testing.
For example, MS uses two companies I know of, Volt and Excel which hire people and refer them to MS as contractors.

When gamers shop for a new game, be it video or board, what about it makes the game attractive to them.?
I am working with a promotions agengy for a semester and I have been given the job of researching game trends. My specific game is a new board game for Arnold Palmer.
The questions I ask are: What kinds of golf games are being bought these days, and what the ratio is between video and board games? Also, when you look for a new game, what makes one more attractive to you. How important is packaging, title, game reviews, or the celebrities the game contains?
For example, if the game had Arnald Palmer's name included, would you be more likely to buy it?
How could the game be packaged to make it more competitive against a video game?
What do you think about the idea of puting out an indoor golf game as apposed to a video game, given that gamers today prefer to sit in front of a tv instead of move around?
For my report, I would also appreciate it if those answering could tell me their gender and age. Thank you very much!
Well, I personally only buy Nintendo games and Nancy Drew games. I buy every Nancy Drew game because I love that series. As for Nintendo, I usually buy from a particular series (Zelda, Mario, etc.)
I don't know that the packaging is all that important, at least not to me. I may look into game reviews, but I usually take them with a grain of salt. Even big game review sites like IGN or Gamestop I don't listen to. I think they are paid off anyway.
I also don't care what celebrities are featured in games (I also have no earthly idea who Arnald Palmer is
).
About this indoor golf game idea: Is that something that simulates golfing? Sort of like DDR? That sounds pretty cool.
Oh, and I'm female and I'm 21.
I've also been a pretty hardcore gamer since I was 13 years old.
Edit: Oh, and as far as board games are concerned, the box art DOES appeal to me. Strange, eh? I don't buy board games very often. I have purchased the Simpsons Life game (that is really neat) as well as Disney Monopoly. Things like that appeal to me where they incorporate a TV show or something into a game.
